With cheese platters, after dinner, as dessert: With Dolce (Italian for "sweet"), the Australian Starward distillery is continuing its mission for a culinary, relaxed whiskey culture . The single malt lives up to its name: tantalizingly dark, it combines succulent wine notes, oaky spice, caramelized marshmallows and cola with a Sicilian-inspired sweetness . Inspired? After the whiskey made in Melbourne was matured in typical Starward red wine casks from the region, the distillers matured it in casks containing the Australian version of the Italian dessert wine Marsala .

Dolce originated in the context of the Starward Projects . In the distillery's “laboratory program”, the innovative Australians have room for experimental ideas and live them out in order to find aromatic, unique forms of expression for their single malt. For this reason, the juicy-sweet release is limited to 4,800 bottles, which is unique worldwide.
